What is an safety shower valve?
Safety shower valves are release devices for emergency showers that are used to extinguish and decontaminate people after accidents and are used in combination with emergency shower arms. The safety shower valve consists of a robust ball valve with drinking water approval and ensures long-term use. These safety shower valves are mandatory first aid facilities for workplaces where employees may come into contact with hazardous substances, acids, alkalis, heat, flames and also extreme dirt.
What types of installation are available for safety shower valves?
- wall mounted with exposed pipework
- wall mounted with recessed version
- ceiling mounting with exposed pipework
How is contamination of the water standing in the shower prevented by safety shower valves?
All B-SAFETY safety shower valves with drainage in combination with an safety shower arms are designed to be self-draining between the trigger valve and the shower head to prevent contamination of standing water in advance.
What are the specifics of safety shower valves?
Safety shower valves can be purchased individually and adapted to the conditions on site. They are available also in a modular system. In this way, almost all conceivable installation requirements can be realized such as in combination with safety shower arms or the BR 285 095.
The integrated automatic flow regulator ensures a standard-compliant spray pattern regardless of the water pressure on site. With the enclosed safety sign according to EN ISO 7010 and ASR A1.3, the B-SAFETY safety shower is marked and visibility is improved. To ensure that the safety shower valve can be used without confusion in an emergency, the orange OPEN sign is photoluminescent according to DIN 67510.
Mounting-Instructions:
For an installation in accordance with EN 15154-1:2006 it must be ensured, that the safety shower installation is self-draining between valve and shower head.
What standards apply to safety shower valves?
Our safety shower valves comply with the standards EN 15154-1:2006 (Body showers in laboratories), EN 15154-5:2019 (Body showers for locations other than laboratories / replacement for DIN 12899-3:2009) and ANSI Z358.1-2014.
