What is a tank eyewash stations?
Tank eyewash stations are intended for mobile use or for use at places where running water resp. water connection is not available. These eye showers can be used to provide first aid facilities at hazardous workplaces where employees may come into contact with hazardous substances, acids, alkalis, heat, flames and also extreme dirt. The restricted, even and, most important of all, soft water jet has been optimized for rinsing chemicals out of the eye.

What are the specifics of Tank eyewash stations?
Not everywhere where there is a potential danger from corrosive or flammable substances, the water connection for an emergency shower is also available. Especially on extensive industrial sites, on construction sites or in warehouses, water connections can only be realized with great effort. Tank eye showers can be used to provide economical first aid in these locations as well. Transportable eye showers with a tank capacity of 16 liters are most commonly used.
lthough these showers cannot replace the use of systems permanently installed on the water network, they can provide effective first aid directly at the workplace at risk.
Flushing time
The tank eye shower BR952005 has a 60-liter tank and thus ensures an uninterrupted flushing time of approximately 15 minutes. A flushing time of approx. 2 minutes is achieved with the BR958005 and BR960005.
Note: Showers with a flushing time of less than 15 minutes should only be used to bridge the gap until a permanently installed shower is reached.
How can calcification and contamination of the tank eyewash stations be prevented?
As the water in the tanks ages, very close attention must be paid to regular renewal of the flushing liquid due to the risk of contamination. Depending on the type of flushing liquid, the following cycles are recommended. For drinking water, we recommend at least a weekly change of the rinsing liquid; for drinking water with an antibacterial additive(BR910980), we recommend a change after a maximum of 6 months.
What standards apply to tank eyewash stations?
Our safety eye showers comply with the standards EN 15154-4:2009 and ANSI Z358.1-2014. Further national standards may have to be observed. In addition, company standards may need to be considered when selecting an safety eye shower.
